Eagle Scout Programs

The Sacramento Chapter recognizes Eagle Scouts through "SAR Certificates of Recognition" at BSA Courts of Honor and also participates in the CASSAR and the NSSAR Eagle Scout Scholarship Program.

Open to all Eagle Scouts who are currently registered in an active unit and have not reached their 19th birthday during the year of application.

Congratulations!
Through your dedicated personal efforts, with assistance from your family, adult leaders, and fellow Scouts, you have earned Scouting’s highest award, the Eagle Scout award. You have persevered and successfully completed the extensive requirements–including the important leadership, citizenship, and community service projects. Only those young men who have a great amount of persistence and courage are able to gain the coveted rank of Eagle Scout. You can be very proud of your accomplishment. The Eagle Scout award is an honor. Be proud of it and what it represents. Use it as your guide and inspiration to reach other goals.

Members of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), who trace their ancestry to American Revolutionary War patriots, share with scouting these same ideals which are essential to the preservation and maintenance of a strong America. We are privileged to present you a Certificate of Recognition for your accomplishment.

As an Eagle Scout, you are eligible to participate in the SAR Eagle Scout Scholarship Program. Any Eagle Scout who is currently registered in an active unit and has not reached his 19th birthday during the year of his application is eligible to submit an application for the Sacramento Chapter SAR Scholarship Program. You may apply each year you are eligible. The Sacramento Chapter uses the forms hyperlinked below:

When you have completed the application, the Four Generation Ancestor Chart, and the essay on a patriotic theme, please send the completed package to me at the address below.

Applications must be received no later than October 31, 2011.

Each applicant will receive the SAR Eagle Scout Scholarship Patch to be worn on his uniform. One of the applicants will be judged the winner for the Sacramento Chapter SAR and will receive the SAR Eagle Scout Medal and a $250 cash award.

The Chapter's winning application will be forwarded to the California Society to complete with other SAR Chapter winners. The winner at the State level will receive the SAR Spreading Wing Bronze Eagle Trophy and a $1,500 Series EE US Savings Bond to be presented at the annual meeting of the CASSAR in the Spring.

The winning State application will be submitted to NSSAR National Headquarters to compete with other state finalists for $14,000 in scholarships. The National winner will be invited to attend the NSSAR Annual Congress where he will be awarded an $8,000 scholarship. The First runner-up will receive a $4,000 scholarship. The second runner-up will receive a $2,000 scholarship.

Again, congratulations to you on attaining the Eagle Scout rank. We extend our best wishes for continued success in all your future endeavors.
